NZ Post Book Awards 2008 - Winners Announced
Best Junior Fiction and Winner of Children’s Book of the Year -
Snake and Lizard by Joy Cowley, illustrations by Gavin Bishop
(kept in our senior fiction area - spine label COW).
* Several classes have been enjoying the short stories read to them by their teacher when they have visited our library. If you are looking to buy a book for your family, this would be a great choice. It would be enjoyed by younger children if it was read to them, and treasured by older children as a favourite they could read to themselves.

Best Picture Book - One Lucky Kiwi by Melanie Drewery, illustrated by John O’Reilly
and Ali Teo (kept in our picture book section - spine label D).

Picture Book Honour Award - To The Harbour by Stanley Palmer
(a sophisticated picture book in our senior fiction area - spine label PAL).

Welcome to Term 2 in the Library

As we are now in our winter term, you may play games from our games cupboard. These must be played quietly and they must be played on one of the library tables. Tidy the game up yourself when it is time to go.
Later this term we will have a Rummikub competition for Year 4 to Year 6 children.

Library Review 08

We are currently in the process of completing the Sunnybrae Library Review. Today we completed Sunnybrae's first online survey with a group of students. The children really enjoyed completing a digital survey. We would like to thank Fiona Grant for helping us to put the survey online. The results of the survey will be shared in an upcoming post.

Welcome to Sunnybrae's First Ever Library Blog

The Sunnybrae Library and Information Centre offers a wide variety of resources and activities for the students, staff and parents at our school. Our blog will share library news, information about new resources, book reviews, messages from our student librarians and that's just a start!

If you have any new ideas for making our library an even better place or want to recommend new books for us to buy then this is the place to do it, please make a comment.
